Message I posted a thread yesterday asking about comments on oil coolers and thermostats. I put it in general because I wasn't really looking for technical information, and I wasn't really polling people because I was looking for the "why" and not just a roll call on what products people have. I got a bit of good information from the post (at least enough to help me decide which products I want to get). Then, when I checked it last night, I find that Ash Powers (Ash's Z) and Jon Abeler (i-xclr8) have used my post not to contribute, but to show what kind of "badaZZ's" they are. Check the post's out: Ash's and Jon's and I will address accordingly.

To ASH:
I think it is great that you got your electric fan setup to finally work on your car. I will not be inquiring about your setup because: you have a unique radiator and water pump setup as well so your results might not translate to other Z's, and because you sold this product a few years ago obviously without the proper research and *most* people were not happy with your product on their cars. So if you posted for a sales pitch, no thanks. If you posted to help defend my use of an electric fan, again, no thanks. I didn't ask for your blessing or opinion before buying my electric fan, and I sure don't need it now.

To Jon:
There is something to be said for thinking outside the box, and maybe your relocated radiators will work. But that is just one heat exchanger that you are removing from the front of the engine. To second that, a radiator is not the ideal way to eliminate heat from an engine. It uses thermal transfer to pull heat out of the heat soaked engine, where it would be better to keep the heat inside the combustion chamber and keep the rest of the motor cooler before the radiator even comes into play. If I had the money, I would thermal coat the heads, valves, piston, manifolds, turbo housings, and downpipes. The results on Mike Kojima's car were water temps. around 30 degrees cooler on a before and after without changing anything else on his (already upgraded) cooling system. I know you like to be different, but on a quote from Swain Coat, getting all of that stuff done will cost around $1,000, so good luck on "battling the laws of nature" with your idea of havng a less expensive/better performing product at the end of the day.

I do not post here enough or live in an area to get to know any of the "main guys" on a personal level, so you don't see comments from me popping up too often. But one thing I do pride myself on is the fact that I search the shit out of the topics I am curious about. So please, if you want to use a thread in my post to "flex nuts", please make sure you are at least suggesting a rational idea, because Jon, what you wrote does not impress me, or open my eye's in any way, it just makes me think you are a pompass asshole.
